Recycling Food Waste Collection Launched

The new food waste collections have started in Henfield and form an integral part of the waste collection service and we encourage everyone to take part.

Food waste will be collected weekly and taken to be recycled via anaerobic digestion where it is converted into biofertiliser and energy. The biofertiliser is used on farmers’ fields and the energy powers the plant, with any excess exported to the national grid to be used in homes.

For further details, take a look at our March Newsletter and check the WSCC website, Food waste collections - West Sussex County Council.
