Henfield Conservation Volunteers

Henfield Conservation Volunteers
Role Practical Conservation Volunteer
Description We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who love the natural world to help care for Henfield's beautiful open spaces. Volunteers work in small groups to maintain and enhance our local local environment, protecting native trees, wild flowers, and wildlife while keeping public areas welcoming. Tasks include managing hedgerows, clearing ponds or streams, woodland coppicing, and controlling invasive plant species.
Time Commitment Flexible. Work parties typically head out about once a fortnight (often on a Sunday morning) for a couple of hours. There is no obligation to attend every session—volunteers simply join in whenever they are free.
Location Across Henfield's local wildlife sites, including Henfield Common, Broadmere Common, Oreham Common, and the Tanyard.
Skills and Experience No prior conservation experience or specialist skills are required. Some of our volunteers are stronger or more experienced than others, but everyone has something valuable to contribute. All necessary tools, safety gear, and practical advice are provided.
Age Restrictions Over 18s only
Contact Details To find out more or join the next work party, please email us at: henfieldconservation@gmail.com or call Tony Baker on 07557 901185.
