Further Information As the current chair steps down in Oct 2026 at the AGM we are looking for someone to step into the role of Chair and to increase our membership with a wider range of representation. The charity is designed to do the following:
  1. Be an advocate for patient services and the patient experience.
  2. Be inclusive and representative of the whole Henfield Medical Centre community, ensuring that we hear from a broad range of patients and not simply those who are already engaged with the Practice.
  3. Be the eyes and ears of our community, helping to identify and communicate trends, patient opinions, experiences and concerns about the services we provide.
  4. Act as a critical friend to the Practice – being willing to challenge us constructively, whilst also working with us to find solutions and improvements.
  5. Support health education and patient awareness, helping the Practice communicate important health information and ensuring patients are aware of the services and resources available to them.
  6. Take a solution-based approach to patient concerns, encouraging honest and constructive communication with the Practice and helping to identify and monitor improvements.
  7. Not engage with individual patient complaints or concerns. Individual complaints will continue to be dealt with through the Practice's established complaints process, ensuring confidentiality and appropriate governance.
  8. Not provide medical advice to patients. The PPG does not have a clinical role and cannot replace professional medical advice.
  9. Hold the Practice accountable for how and when it engages with its patient population, helping to ensure that patient involvement is meaningful and that we can demonstrate that we listen, respond and make improvements where appropriate.
  10. The PPG will apply for grants where appropriate to support specific needs of the surgery.
